IMPORTANT THINGS FOR CHOOSING YOUR BAND LINE UP:
The repertoire of The White Tree Band won't change too much whether you book us as a 3 piece, or an 8 piece. However the overall sound of the band becomes progressively more diverse and energetic as you add more instruments. A bigger band line up also looks more visually exciting.
There is little difference in the actual noise level between a 3 piece and an 8 piece band - the PA system and amps control the overall volume.
There is not a huge difference in the space required for a 3 or 4 piece band, compared to a 7 or 8 piece band. The bits which take up the most room are the drums and PA system, and these are prevalent in every band line up. The other musicians can fit in around these two pieces of equipment without any trouble.
The band configurations/prices are based on the number of musicians. Sometimes there are more instruments involved than the number of musicians. E.g. In a 3 piece band there are 3 musicians, but there are 4 actual instruments, as the male singer is also playing guitar.
It is possible to have a male AND female singer in a line up, although this should only be considered if you are booking a minimum 5 piece band. There are more important instruments which should be added to the mix before considering 2 x singers. For e.g. a 4 piece band with a male singer/guitarist, should include keyboard in the line up before adding the female singer. This is just our professional opinion.
Remember, the male singers can cover songs originally recorded by female vocalists, and vice versa.
